I haven’t yet subscribed to barefoot running. However I believe strongly in low drop shoes and many of the other fundamental concepts that have brought popularity to the movement. Christopher McDougall, author of Born To Run brought the concept of barefoot running into the mainstream eye with his best selling book’s release. Here he speaks at TedxPennQuarter explaining how the Tarahumara Indians of Mexico have maintained the innately human tradition of ultra running as an integral part of their culture and what we can learn from their practices. Have we detached ourselves from an active, running based lifestyle at the expense of our physical and mental well-being?
